The idea of this noble Association began in 2006 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State during National Conference organized by the Medical Laboratory Scientists There and then the President met some Laboratory Scientists who advise him to start the Association from anywhere considering the fact that Nigeria has 36 States including FCT Abuja, hence the AMELTAN ASSOCIATION and Headquarters start in Rivers State. In 2008 when concern members met and thought for the way forward the Association which was conveyed and hosted by Comrade (Pastor) Fresh Atubokiki at Braithwaite Memorial Hospital (BMH) Histology Department, having in attendance, Comr. (Pastor) Fresh Atubokiki, Comr.(Hon).) Samuel E.A. Isijana, Comr. Baakel Levi Beate, Comr. (Evang) Prosper Sample, Comr. Charles Oji, Comr. James I. Godwin etc.
The outcome of the various consultations and concerns was a formal Inaugural General Meeting in Port Harcourt at the National Museum. The meeting was well attended as the hall was filled to its capacity. The meeting at the National Museum led to Adoption of the following persons as members of National Working
Committee which were mandated, amongst others to:
To produce constitution for AMELTAN
To Register the Association etc two days letter staff of BMH were redeployed Including Pastor Fresh.
